The much-anticipated Sheikh Zayed National Museum has officially opened on Saadiyat Island, unveiling an iconic cultural institution dedicated to celebrating the legacy, vision, and values of the late His Highness Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the Founding Father of the UAE. Exceptionally designed by Lord Norman Foster of Foster + Partners, the museum is inspired by falcon wings, with its five towers symbolising the country’s heritage and deep-rooted passion for falconry. Featuring six permanent galleries as well as one temporary gallery, this architectural masterpiece is spread across two floors and presents exhibitions that trace the nation’s journey from ancient beginnings to modern innovation. Inside, visitors can explore thoughtfully curated galleries showcasing unique archaeological artefacts, multimedia displays, and immersive interactions that bring the history of the Emirates, its people, and its leadership to life. Nestled in the heart of the Saadiyat Cultural District alongside prestigious attractions such as the Louvre Abu Dhabi, the Natural History Museum, and the upcoming Guggenheim, the Sheikh Zayed National Museum stands as a cornerstone of the UAE’s heritage, offering inspiration, insight, and cultural discovery like never before.
